GALAPAGOS
MARINE BIOLOGICAL RESERVE
This is the marine zone surrounding the Galapagos Islands.
While hard coral reefs are absent, the area is marine area is
fabulous for its palegic (open ocean) species, like blue and pilot whales,
enormous delta-winged manta rays, orcas, various species of delfins that follow
your boat for hours, green turtles, hammer and other sharks, and countless
exotic fish of different shapes and colours.
Scuba diving is absolutely fantastic around Galapagos and we can

The Marine zone is a Man and Biosphere reserve as well as a
UNESCO Heritage Site. Its total area is 7,000,000 ha.
