CUYABENO BIOLOGICAL STATION

During the early nineteen eighties, the Department of Biology of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Ecuador had constructed a biological research station at the Grand Cuyabeno Lake.  For almost a decade, scientists from different parts of the world and a good number of students from Ecuador were using the basic, but functional facilities as the basis for their research.

When it burnt down some years ago, the Cuyabeno Lodge helped out by providing accommodation to students and resident scientists. The Cuyabeno Lodge has always provided a large structure for use by the National Parks Service. This structure is now being used as the Biological Station and special accommodation arrangement are made for students and researchers who have official permission for research from INEFAN.  For further information, please contact us through our email address at the bottom of the page.
